Orton Waterville moths, 3 July 10

Several nice catches in the MV trap last night included my second garden Small Ranunculus and a dapper Four-spotted which was new for the garden list.

A brief spell with the clearwing lures pulled in 4 Red-belted Clearwings - the first arrived in less than 10 minutes of the lures being hung up!

Red-belted Clearwing, Elton

Without the aid of a pheromone lure or a safety net my sharp eyed spouse, Karen, spotted this rarely seen moth feeding at the flowers of our Hebe 'Great Orme' at about 12:30 today.
