An unexpected species (the 350th for the garden) and, in contrast to the docile Buff-tip, one of the least co-operative moths i've ever tried to photograph.

Fifth record for the garden for this migrant - all previous records caught during the great migrant summer of 2006. Caught at light (160w MVB).
A Diarsia sp. with forewing length of 16 mm. I have not recorded Ingrailed Clay or Purple Clay in the garden previously. Although just a single Small Square-spot of rather different appearance recorded here so far (see 04Sep07), this is perhaps the most likely id. Comments welcome!
